Bernard Miles Davis

Bernard Miles Davis, 79 of West Union passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born December 10, 1937 in Black Lick, WV, Doddridge County, son of the late Whetzel Arden and Opal Law Davis. Bernard graduated from Doddridge County High School and was an Army Veteran that served in Germany. He retired from Union Carbide as an Instrument Mechanic. He is survived by a stepdaughter, Renate Marie Malone, West Palm Beach, FL; step grandson, Dennis Malone; eight siblings, Hayward Davis, Salem, Leonard Davis and Jackie, Orange Park, FL, Haymond Davis and Charlotte, Williamstown, WV, Ralph Davis and Ruth Ann, Lost Creek, Eva Roach and Gary, Sanford, FL, Reva Davis and Geneva Davis, both of Ashburn, VA, Allen Davis, Clarksburg; brother-in-law Herbert Pichl and sister-in-law Julie Pichl both of Germany; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karoline Pichl Davis on June 19, 2014. Bernard was a member of the American Legion Post 125, West Union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He enjoyed working on electronics. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Greathouse Funeral Home in Salem, and on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 9 am until time of service at 11:30am with Pastor Robert Marino presiding. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery, Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post #12, Central WVA DAV Chapter 24, and their Auxiliaries, and the WV Army National Honor Guard of Camp Dawson.
