Mary Ross Post Obituary

Mary Kathryn Haught Ross Post, 87, of Cherry Camp Run, Salem passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at United Hospital Center after a brief illness. She was the oldest of fraternal twins born on August 6, 1932, in Bristol, WV, daughter of the late Ormin Cline “O.C.” and Lillie Blanche Taylor Haught. She graduated from Bristol High School, Class of 1950 and attended Salem College until marrying Robert Lynn Ross on October 5, 1951 in Winchester, VA. Bob passed away on September 14, 1974. In June 1977 she married Richard Post and they were married until he passed on May 2007.  Mary is survived by one son, Joseph Lynn Ross and wife Mary, Salem; daughter, Kay Olivito and husband Bill, Salem; daughter-in-law, Debra Ross, Salem; stepson, Jim Rogers and wife Janet, Marshville; four grandchildren, Michael Ross and wife Mary Beth, Robert Benjamin Ross and Amanda Watson, Andria Lattea and husband George, Jana Shepard and husband Jeff; stepgrandchildren, Jimmy Rogers and wife Nicole, Tim Rogers and Danny Rogers; four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; twin brother, Dr. Joseph Haught and wife Carolyn, Phoenix, AZ, sister-in-law, Marie Haught, Mooresville, NC; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Alan Ross; one brother, Robert Haught; stepdaughter, Karen Sue Rogers; stepson, Randy Post. Mary worked at Meadow Gold Dairy in Clarksburg and her and Bob had Ross Tire and Supply in Salem for ten years where she was parts runner and bookkeeper; Brown’s Limestone and retired from Scott Oil and Gas as a bookkeeper. She was an active member of the Eastern Star Chapter #30, Salem where she was chaplain, Board Member of the Salem Assembly 49 Order of Rainbow Girls, charter member and a past president of the Salem Lioness Club, member of the Salem Garden Club where she was president for several years. She was a long standing member of the Enon Baptist Church. She really enjoyed her lady lunch groups throughout the years. Family and friends may call at Greathouse Funeral Home, Salem, Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 3-8pm and Monday, November 18, 2019 from 9am until time of service at 12Noon at the funeral home with Reverend Larry McKim. Interment will follow at K of P Cemetery.
