Walter Hnotkow Obituary

Walter John Hnotkow, 80 of Miletus Community, Salem passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020. He was born September 1, 1939 in Secaucus, NJ; the son of the late Walter Hnotkow and Lillian Natalie Pankowitz Walton and her husband Eugene R Walton.

Walter served in the United States Air Force. He retired as a truck driver with Smith and Solomon Trucking in New Jersey and retired a second time as a well tender for Cabot Oil and Gas.  His hobbies were collecting trains, woodworking, being outdoors, farming and loved his family, horses and animals.

Walter is survived by his wife of fifty two years, Muriel Eleanor VanBuren Hnotkow; one daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Jean Hnotkow; Salem; two sisters, Denise Walton, Marylou Walton and George all of Clarksburg; nephew, Josh Walton, Chicago, IL; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Walter is preceded in death by his sister, Babette Biel.

Greathouse Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the cremation for the Hnotkow family. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
