Allen "Dink" Welch

Allen "Dink" Welch, 69 of Tarkiln Rd. Salem departed this life on Monday, October 21, 2013 at his residence. He was born on May 19, 1944 in Salem a son of the late Boyd Welch Jr. and Julia Davis Welch. On September 2, 2000 he married Neva Hurst Welch who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Tammy Hostetter, Ruffin, NC, Julia Mitchell, Reedsville, NC, one son, Allen D. Welch II, Reedsville, NC, one sister, Debbie Gaskins, and husband Charles, Quiet Dell, three brothers, Robert Welch and wife Regina, Quiet Dell, Jim Welch and wife Sharon, Good Hope, John Welch, West Union, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were, four sons, Ronald Eugene Welch, Nathaniel Allen Welch, Christopher Allen Welch, Allen Welch, two daughters, Tessie Welch, Amy Welch, one sister, Mary Virginia Chipps, and one brother, Forrest Welch.

Mr. Welch was a self employed carpet installer with 40 years service. He enjoyed hunting and watching Nat-Geo, Discovery and Science channels. Dink was Baptist.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00AM with Pastor Jon Hayes presiding. Interment will follow in the Wilbur Cemetery, Tyler County. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 4-8PM.
