Alma J. Travis Flanigan, 101 of Salem departed this life on Thursday, January 15, 2015 in the Clarksburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on August 19, 1913 at Buckhannon a daughter of the late Harley Burton and Rosa Lee Reeder Clark. Twice married she was preceded in death by husbands, Mont F. Travis and John G. Flanigan.
Surviving is two daughters, Patricia Ann Golden and husband Francis, TN, Mary Lou Kinney and husband Kenneth, Salem, five sons, Robert Lee Travis and wife Lula Mae, Parkersburg, James Travis and wife Doris, Lightburn, Richard E. Travis and wife Niki, Omaha, NB, Charles Travis and wife Pam, Salem, Ronnie Flanigan and wife Helen, Hurricane, 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren. Two granddaughters, Jodi and Martha Lee Travis, two sisters, Irene Thomas and Beulah Curtis, one step-son, Royce Flanigan, one step-daughter, Dorothy Travis preceded her in death.
Mrs. Flanigan was a homemaker and a member of the Farm Women's Club, Buckhannon. She was the oldest living member of Vermont Baptist Church. Alma was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11:00AM with Pastor Dave Baker presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Quiet Dell. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 2-8PM.
