Ann Marie (Francis) Zinn, 84 of Salem, WV passed away on February 18 after an extended illness. She was born September 27, 1940, in Clarksburg, WV, daughter of the late Freda (Conaway) Francis and Ronzel Francis. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Berlin “Bud” Zinn, her children Kimberly (William “Bill”) Patterson and Timothy Zinn; two grandchildren, Matthew (Carrie) Patterson and Emily (Robert) Rudolph, and two great grandchildren Evelyn and Eli Rudolph.
Ann graduated valedictorian from Salem High School in 1958. In high school, she was selected for the West Virginia Rhododendron Girls State, was editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, and sang in a trio, the “Rhythmettes,” with Terry (Hurley) Van Horn and Mary Esther (Goldchien) McKown, which performed throughout North Central West Virginia. After high school, Ann attended Salem College. She was a member of the West Salem United Methodist Church where she served as the organist and later joined the Salem Seventh Day Baptist Church. Over the years, she was the organist for Harbert Funeral Home and was active in the Salem College/University Auxiliary, Orpha Chapter #30 Order of the Eastern Star, Salem Lioness Club, Salem Garden Club, and the Salem Beautification Club.
Ann worked for several local businesses throughout her career, including Salem College, Scott Oil and Gas Company/, Randolph Terrace Apartments, and State Farm Insurance.
Friends and family will be received at Davis Funeral Home, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM; the funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Dale Thorngate officiating. Interment will follow at the Salem K of P Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://act.alz.org.
