Austin Kimedy “Kim” Ford, 93, of Salem passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at his residence with family by his side. He was born May 20, 1929 in Big Battle, WV, son of the late Alva Anderson and Bertha May Stout Ford. Kim retired from Weirton Steel with over thirty-five years of service. He was a member of Welcome Baptist Church, member of the New Cumberland Masonic Lodge No. 22 A.F. and A.M., and a 32nd degree mason, and Osiris Shrine, Wheeling. He enjoyed hunting and gardening.
Kim is survived by his wife of seventy four years, Naomi Jean Gaston Ford whom he married on December 15, 1948; seven children, Donna Snider, Weirton, James Ford and Marsha, New Cumberland, WV, Richard Ford and Charlette, New Cumberland, Barbara Young, New Cumberland, Crystal Dobosz and Emil, Weirton, Dorene Ash, Clarksburg, and Brad Ford, Clarksburg; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-four great grand children and six great great grandchildren; one sister, Louetta Morgan, Goldsboro, NC; two sisters-in-law, Dorene Gaston and Delores Ashcraft both of Weirton; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kim is preceded in death by five sisters, Elmina Gaston, Jane Gaskins, Ellen Gaskins, Garnett Swallop, Betty Merritt; three brothers, Onest Ford, Bill Ford and Useba Ford.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 3-7PM. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Welcome Baptist Church, Big Battle Road, Salem WV at 12Noon with Pastor Chad Raines officiating.
