Barbara "Barb" Kay Bonnell Cork

Barbara “Barb” Kay Bonnell Cork, 73, of Salem, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at her residence. She was born August 16, 1953, in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Donald Elden Bonnell and Ester Joann Barnes Shillingburg.

Barb was a hardworking woman who worked at the sewing factory and later spent more than 17 years at Salem IGA and Shop N Save. She enjoyed sewing, watching television, and the companionship of her cat. Above all, Barb loved her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and the memories they shared with her will be treasured for years to come.

Barb is survived by her three children, Birdie Devericks and Todd of Miletus, Burties Cork Jr. of Salem, and Misty Kesling and Jordan of Jarvisville; son-in-law, Greg Moore of Sedalia; nine grandchildren, Courtney and Trevor, Jazmane and Jesse, Gregory and Emily, Garrett and Savanah, Ben and Shelby, Dalton and Justin, Libby and Matt, Griffin, and Tanner; thirteen great-grandchildren, Ayden, Bentley, Ezra, Emi, Owen, Bella, Phoebe, Lucy, Colt, Elias, Ember, Hadley, and Dean; Leon Bonnell (Diana), Connie Carmichael, Jackie Searcy (Robert), Chuck Bonnell, and Missie Bostic (Randy), all of Salem; half-siblings, Mike, Dana, Jeff, Donnie, and Marsha; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Burties Dean Cork Sr., on July 7, 2021; daughter, Pam Moore; sister, Bonnie Woofter; and half-sister, Joyce Ann.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home – Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 3:00–7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Chad Ash officiating. Interment will follow at Cork Cemetery.
