Bertha Bolte Obituary

Bertha Azeline Bolte, 100 of Meathouse Fork Rd. Salem departed this life on Monday, September 5, 2016 in Genesis Health Care Center, Salem. She was born on April 2, 1916 a daughter of the late Henry Howard and Nancy Catherine "Kate" Ford Sutton. On April 10, 1938 she married Bernard "Tom" Bolte who preceded her in death on December 3, 1990.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathryn Sue Wallace and husband Richard, Linda Davis and husband Robert both of Salem, six grandchildren, Bernard Yeager and wife Nanette, Clarksburg, Chuck Yeager and wife Melanie,Jarvisville, Kathy Baisden and husband Bryan, VA, Doug Yeager and wife Cecile, VA, Brenda Richter and husband Rob, Wilsonburg, Scarlett Everly and husband Kevin, Shinnston, nine great grandchildren, Christian and Mia Yeager, Austin and Brett Baisden, Blake and Clarissa Yeager, Brandon and Nick Richter and Cassandra Everly, one sister, Fern Clower, Niles, OH, son-in-laws, Jim and Charles Yeager, and Jim's second wife Betsy and their daughters, Rachel and Kristi. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Ann Yeager, great grandson, Declan Richter, three brothers, Glen, Ray and Jake Sutton and two sisters, Hazel Davis and Fay Perine.

Mrs. Bolte was a homemaker and a member of Mr. Vernon Baptist Church where she was a past teacher of young children. She enjoyed gardening, canning, working in her flowers and reading. She was a tremendous help to her husband as a bookkeeper for Bolte Machine Shop for 10 years.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 1:00PM with Pastor Robert Marino and Pastor Roger Fontaine presiding. Interment will follow in the Big Isaac Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 2-8PM and after 9AM on Saturday until time of service. Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Bolte family.
