Betty L. Chipps, 73, of Route 4, Salem passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 in her residence. She was born in Harrison County on August 29, 1935 a daughter of the late Jerry and Tencie Ash Davis. She was preceded in death on November 21,1989 by her husband, Harry L. Chipps.
She is survived by two daughters, Lucille Davis, Follansbee, Ann Riley and husband Charles, Bristol, three sons, Clyde Chipps, Harry Chipps, John Chipps, all of Wolf Summit, two sisters, Joann Blossor and husband Denzil, Sun Valley, Kay Davis and husband Fred, Salem, one brother, Carl Davis, Salem, six grandchildren and one great grandson.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded by one son, Richard Chipps, brothers, Jerry Davis, Darwin Davis and Richard Davis, sisters, Mary Ann Ayers and Dorothy Ann Davis.
Betty was a homemaker and loved working with her flowers. She attended the Wolf Summit Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem,WV with Reverend Mark Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Coplin Cemetery near Jarvisville. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 23, 2009 in the funeral home chapel from 4-8PM and from 9AM on Friday until time of service.
