Beverly Ann Miles

Beverly Ann Miles, 71, of Salem, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, August 23, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

She was born November 7, 1954, in West Union, a daughter of Ida Virginia Livingston Nicholson of West Union and the late Burlin “Esau” Floyd Nicholson.

Beverly devoted much of her life to being a homemaker and caring for those she loved. Family was at the heart of her life, and she treasured the moments they shared together. Whether it was a simple visit, a family gathering, or time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, those moments brought Beverly great happiness and created memories her family will forever hold close.

Beverly also had a creative spirit and enjoyed writing children’s books, allowing her imagination to come to life through the stories she created. She had a special fondness for dragons and collected numerous dragon figurines over the years. Her collection reflected a little of the imagination and personality that made Beverly uniquely herself.

Above all, Beverly will be remembered for the love she had for her family. Her presence in their lives, the memories they made together, and the love she shared will remain a lasting part of each of them. Though her absence leaves a deep sadness, her family will continue to carry her memory in their hearts through the stories, laughter, and special moments they were blessed to share with her.

In addition to her mother, Beverly is survived by her husband of 41 years, John Stanley Miles; two children, Bernice Vickers and Virginia Hoalcraft, both of Richmond, VA; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Shirley Gessler of Big Flint, Bertie Adams and husband Clinton of Salem, Malinda Kay Long of Nashville, TN, Floyd Nicholson and wife Janette of Marshville, Ronald Nicholson of West Union, Donald Nicholson of West Union, Harvey Nicholson (Sherri), Spencer, and Richard Nicholson of Richmond, VA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Beverly was preceded in death by two sons, James Robert Stonestreet and Bernard James Stonestreet II; and one sister, Sharon Nicholson.

Family and friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home – Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, WV, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m.
