Brandi Kay Bowen, 20, of Rt. 1, Salem went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 27, 2009.
She was born on November 23, 1988 in Mt. Pleasant, SC to John N. Jose Bowen, Greenbrier, and Jill Lynne Fittro Boso, Parkersburg. She was raised on Greenbrier, Doddridge County.
Also surviving are one sister, Samantha Bowen, at home; paternal grandparents, Roger and Lola Bowen, Salem; maternal grandfather, David Fittro, Clarksburg; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her Maternal Grandmother, Regina Fittro, preceded her in death.
Brandi accomplished so very much in her 20 years. She excelled at Doddridge County High School in academics, track, cross-country and basketball. She won many State Championships in track. Brandi was a member of Little Kanawha Trail Riders. She loved her horses and began riding when she was a toddler. Brandi was a sophomore at Glenville State College on an academic and athletic scholarship. She enjoyed being member of the track and cross-country teams. Brandi was a member of Lydia Chapel Church on Greenbrier.
Brandi grew up in a close-knit family and was adored by all of her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She will be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem with Pastor Doug Guinn and Pastor Danny Fleming officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, Salem. Family and friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
