Brett Daniel Fox Sr.

Brett Daniel Fox Sr, 67, of Salem passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born on March 16, 1958 in Bancroft, WV, son of the late Elmer Eugene Fox and Eva Lee Vandergriff Fox Shaffer and husband Doug Shaffer. Brett served his country in the United States Marines where he was a mechanic. He retired as a communication specialist at WV State University. Brett enjoyed watching college football and racing. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved his furry friends, Rufus and Lily. Brett is survived by his companion of 13 years, Christenia Marie Mayle Meredith; five children, Brett Fox Jr. (Amber), Gary Fox, Valerie Ramey, Amanda Fox, Ryan Barker; seven grandchildren, Zoey, Kris, Arianna, Zach, Alex, Bethany, Chloe; one sister, Terri Breeden; brother-in-law, Thomas Frame; sister-in-law, Melinda Fox; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Brett was preceded in death by one sister, Anita Frame; one brother, Timothy Fox. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 5-7PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Bancroft VFD, 449 Washington St, Bancroft, WV 25011 from 1-3PM.
