Bryan Utter Obituary

Bryan Edward Utter, 71, of Monroe St., Salem went home to be with the Lord on Friday April 12, 2013 at his residence.

He was born on August 4, 1941 at Bristol, a son of the late Edward Ingram and Clarice Velma Pratt Utter. On October 31, 1959 he married Linna Bell Childers Utter who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Tina Marie Maxwell, Clarksburg and Michelle Spence and her husband, David, Clarksburg; one son, John Utter and his wife, Marilyn, Buckhannon; grandchildren, Jessica Davis, Jamie Maxwell, Megan & Marissa Utter; three great-grandchildren, Luke & Caden Davis, Jacob Jenkins; one brother, Carlton "Butch" Utter, West Union; two half sisters, Dorothy Chipps and Doris Jean Davis, both of Salem; two half brothers, Vaughn Evans, Clarksburg and Bill Evans, Salem; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Joan Blake, Mary June Shrader, Georgia Lipscomb; and one brother, Leon Utter.

Bryan worked in the Glass Industry for 30 years for various employers most recently known as, Judel Glass. He also worked for Dynis as a wiring contractor for Verizon, Lisn Inc. OH and drove tractor & trailer in his early years. He was a member of the Open Door Tabernacle Church where he pastored at different times. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR but his greatest love was for his wife of 54 years, his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 1:00PM with Pastor Denver Burnside presiding. Interment will follow in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 4-8PM and after 9AM on Monday until time of service.
