Burties Dean Cork, Sr.

Burties Dean Cork Sr., 71 of Salem passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 4, 1950 in Clarksburg, son of the late Denzil Cork Sr and Wilma Smith Cork. Burties worked as a glassworker at Salem Glass, Judel Glass and Louie Glass. He retired from Glaspell Lumber.  He enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler, deer hunting, and spending time with his family. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy.  Burties is survived by his wife of fifty years, Barbara Kay Bonnell Cork whom he married on April 3, 1971; four children, Pam Moore and Greg, Sedalia, Birdie Devericks and Todd, Miletus, Burties Cork Jr, Salem, Misty Kesling and Jordan, Jarvisville; nine grandchildren, Courtney and Trevor, Jazmane, Gregory and Emily, Garrett and Savanah, Ben and Shelby, Dalton, Libby, Griffin, and Tanner; six great grandchildren, Ayden, Bentley, Ezra, Emi, Owen and Bella; siblings, Bonnie Cavins, Salem, Beatrice Ashcraft and Grover, Doylestown, OH, Sharon Hutson and Jeff, Salem, Cynthia Doll and Bill, Alma, Ellsworth Cork and Pat, Francis Cork and Kathy, Clifford Cork all of Salem; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Burties was preceded in death by siblings, Mildred Cork, Rebecca Truax, Kenneth Cork, and Denzil Cork Jr. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 2-8pm and on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Vermont Baptist Church, Skelton Run Road, Salem from 10:00am until time of Funeral Service at 11:00am with Pastor Chad Ash and Ora Ash officiating.   Interment will follow at Cork Cemetery.
