Carla Jan Watson

Carla Jan Watson, 58, of Salem departed this life on Saturday October 12, 2013 at her residence.

She was born in Clarksburg on October 8, 1955 a daughter of the late Hannah Katherine Matthews Moore and Darrell A. Moore, West Union. On October 9, 1976 she married Ricky Watson who survives.

Surviving is one son, Jeremy Watson and wife Barbara, Oakdale, PA two grandchildren, Teague and Hadley Watson, two sisters, Meg Hutson and husband Randy, Sedalia, Jo Jordan and husband Jeff, Hurricane, three brothers, Alan Moore and wife Cloyetta Sue, Powell, OH, Kelby Moore and wife Sheila, Worthington, OH, Dwight Moore and wife Tina, West Union, step-mother, Helen Moore, West Union and several nieces and nephews. Two daughters, Jennifer Marie Watson, Laurie Beth Watson, two sisters, Jill Doak & Amy Kierans preceded her in death.

Jan was a 1973 graduate of Doddridge County High School and a graduate of Salem College with a BA Degree in Nursing. She was a retired from the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Medical Center as a Registered Nurse. Jan was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Salem.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Salem on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 1:00PM with Pastor Jon Hayes presiding. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 2-8PM and from 9-11AM Wednesday. Mrs. Watson will lie in state one hour prior to her service.
