Carol Eugene Mayle

Carol Eugene Mayle, 78 of West Union departed this life on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at United Hospital Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 5, 1943 in Salem a son of the late Wallace and Genevieve Audrey Starkey Mayle. Carol was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-eight years, Cecilia “Sis” A. Mayle who passed on April 26, 2015. Carol worked construction and was a jack of all trades working last for Carl Greathouse. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time in the garage and loved his family time. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.  Carol is survived by one daughter, Victoria A. Gains and husband Chad; one son, Rocky E. Mayle and wife Lori all of West Union; three grandchildren, Stephanie Underwood and husband Dillion, Zachary Gains and wife Tara and Olivia Mayle; one great granddaughter, Natalie Morgan Underwood; three brothers, Donald Lee Mayle and Audra, Larry Mayle and Sandy, Wilbur Mayle and Kathy, all of Salem, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Carol was preceded in death by four brothers, Darrell, Gary, Ray and Kenneth Mayle and four sisters, Dorthalee Mayle, Gay Patton, Corlene Sutton and Carolyn Richards. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 3-7 pm.
