Carole "Susie" Sue Bunten

Carole Sue “Susie” Bunten, 82, of Salem, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at United Hospital Center with family by her side. She was born on February 1, 1943 in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late William Warfield and Elsie Mae Bowen Tydings.

Susie is survived by her husband of sixty two years, John Robert Bunten whom she married on May 5, 1963; four children, Scott Ronald Bunten (Jeanette), Lexington, VA, Troy Robert Bunten (Suzanne), Huntington, WV, Cheryl Lynn Curran, AJ, Salem, and Carole Anne Bailey (Jean) Sidney, ME; nine grandchildren, Ellie (Daniel), Ian, Mary (Stephen), Grace, Logan, Alayna, Erin, Nathan, and Wesley; two great grandchildren, Spencer and Maya.

In addition to her parents, Susie is preceded in death by one brother, William “Bill” Tydings Jr and one brother in infancy, Ronald Tydings.

Susie was a graduate from Severna Park High School and West Virginia University. She retired from the State of West Virginia as a Disability Specialist.
