Carolyn R. Richards

Carolyn R. Richards, 66 of Jockey Camp Rd. West Union departed this life on Monday, December 31, 2012 in the United Hospital Center. She was born on September 18, 1946 on Long Run, Doddridge County a daughter of the late Wallace Delmas and Genevieve Starkey Mayle.

Surviving is her companion, Robert William Carder, West Union, two daughters, Melinda R. Chipps, Pennsboro, Brenda L. Wyckoff, Greensboro, PA, five grandchildren, Justin Bonnell, Salem, Bradly Bonnell, Christopher Bonnell, both of Pennsboro, Kayla Dawn Bonnell, Salem, Amber Nicole Miller, West Union, one great granddaughter, Adrianna Bonnell, two sisters, Mrs. James (Gay) Patton, Clarksburg, Mrs. Michael (Corlene) Sutton, Salem, seven brothers, Kenneth, Donald Lee, Darrell, Wilbur and Larry Mayle all of Salem, Carol Mayle, Smithburg, Gary Mayle, Shinnston, several nieces and nephews. One brother, Delmas Ray Mayle and one nephew, Jeremy Mayle preceded her in death.

Carolyn had worked for Salem Glass Company, Salem College and Myles Manufacturing in West Union and Pennsboro. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 9151 Salem and had attended the Church of God, Salem. Carolyn enjoyed quilting and working puzzles. She was a loving companion, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 1:00PM with Pastor Denver Burnside presiding. Interment will follow in the Wolverton Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 2-8PM and after 10AM on Saturday until time of service.
