Cecil F. Forrester, 90, of Salem died on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA following a long illness. He was born September 2, 1919 in Greenwood, WV a son of the late William A. and Ida E. Owens Forrester. His wife Minnie Ash Forrester preceded him in death on June 22, 2001.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Hunt and her husband Zeblin, Darlington, MD and two sons, Mitchell Lynn Forrester and John Sidney Forrester, Baltimore, MD, 4 sisters, Wanda Lemasters, Ohio, Kay Conley, PA, Helen Fike, Grafton, Winona Gains, Grafton, one brother, Wallace Forrester, Elkins, 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 3 sons, Danny Forrester, Larry Forrester, Douglas Forrester, 2 grandchildren, 4 sisters and 5 brothers.
Mr. Forrester had worked for Concord-Yates Home Improvements and had been a barber. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Church of God.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 11AM in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem with Reverend Haymond Plaugher officiating. Interment will follow in the K of P Memorial Park, Salem. Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 18, 2010 from 2-4PM & 6-8PM in the funeral home chapel.
