Charles Sonny Davis, 74, of Rt. 2, Salem departed this life on Monday, December 27, 2010. He was born in Salem on March 6, 1936 a son of the late Charles and Madeline Williams Davis. On June 1, 1963 he married Louella Childers Davis who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Teresa Davis, Fairfax, VA, Connie Ferguson and husband Larry, Salem, two grandchildren, Zachary and Katelyn Ferguson, one sister, Linda Boring, Shinnston and two brothers, Gary Davis, Clarksburg and David Davis, Salem.
Mr. Davis was a former employee of W.V. Department of Highways and had worked for Central Supply and Ocean Spray in Vero Beach, FL. He served in the U.S. Army and attended the Open Door Tabernacle. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 12:30PM with Pastor Denver Burnside presiding. Interment will follow in the W.V. National Cemetery, Pruntytown with full military graveside rites. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 11:00 AM until time of service.
