Charles Robert Robbins

Charles Robert Robbins, 81, of Marietta, OH (formerly of Salem) departed this life on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. He was born on May 26, 1929 at Francis Mines, (Harrison County) a son of the late Charles A. and Cora Bell Pyles Robbins. On September 3, 1953 he married Cleta Doris Matthey Robbins who preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Sandy Roe and husband David, Marietta, OH, one son,
Michael Robbins, Woodsfield, OH, four grandchildren, Alecia Graham and husband, Shawn, Marietta, Ashley Whited and husband Brant, Charleston, Stacey Kirkbride, Woodsfield, OH, Shawn Robbins, Woodsfield, OH, two great grandchildren, Cassidy and Molly Graham, Marietta, OH, one sister, Betty Long, Dayton, OH and several nieces and nephews. One brother, James Robbins and two sisters, Thelma Pitts and Frances Rowland preceded him in death.

Mr. Robbins was retired from Ormet Corporation with 32 years service as a bricklayer. He was a member of Local 35724 United Steel Workers, Clarington, OH. Mr. Robbins was a Korean Conflict veteran serving in the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting and watching NASCAR. Mr. Robbins was Baptist.

A memorial service will be held in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 11AM with Reverend Charles Warger presiding. Interment will follow in the K of P Memorial Park, Salem. A time of remembrance will be from 10 AM until time of service.
