Charles Edgar Stark

Charles Edgar Stark, 87, of Salem passed away at River Oaks Nursing Home on Friday, April 18, 2025.  He was born on January 24, 1938 in Marietta OH, a son of the late Virgil Marcellus and Myrtle Mae Morgenstern Stark. He is survived by two sons, Richard Paul Stark (Amy),Virginia Beach VA, Steven Wayne Stark (Nita), Williamstown; daughter-in-law, Christi Stark, Williamstown; grandchildren, Catherine, Tawny. Benjamin, Addison, Bryson, Michael, Christopher, Tanner, Meagan (Kyler), Brandon, and Molly; eleven great grandchildren; three siblings, Virgil Junior Stark (Frances), Coshocton, OH, Barry Denzil Stark (Mary), Whipple, OH, Florence Ethel Beardmore, Lowell, OH; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Elda "Sis" May Deem Stark in 1979; second wife, Viola “Catherine” Cutright Stark in 2021; two sons, Douglas Charles Stark and Thomas Andrew Stark; one daughter in infancy, Sandra Sue Stark; five siblings, Earl Dean Stark, William Christian Stark, Larry Carl Stark, Robert Lee Stark, and Catherine Marie Mayo. Charles did body work most of his life working for various dealerships along with Chittum Buick. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and being outdoors, he also like to tinker around in his workshop.He was a member of Vermont Baptist Church where he was Deacon, Trustee, Sunday School and Bible Study Teacher. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home- Salem, 1999 W Main Street Salem, WV 26426, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 3-8PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 11:00AM with Pastor Chad Ash and Ora Ash officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown.
