Charles "Butch" Titus Jr. Obituary

In Loving Memory of Charles “Butch” Ashby Titus Jr.    March 9, 1958 – September 21, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles “Butch” Ashby Titus Jr., 67, of Salem, West Virginia. Butch left this world on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Parkersburg, WV, on March 9, 1958, Butch was the beloved son of Charles Ashby Titus Sr. and Deloris June Williams Titus, who continue to cherish his memory from their home in Kincheloe, WV.

Butch was a man of deep character, quiet strength, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. He dedicated 24 years of his life to the Doddridge County Board of Education, serving as Transportation Coordinator. Through his work, he kept children safe and brought a sense of steadiness and care to those he served.

Butch’s soul came alive in the great outdoors. He found peace in the stillness of the woods and joy in the rhythm of a fishing line cast into a quiet stream. Hunting, fishing, and simply being in nature were not just hobbies — they were his sanctuary.

Above all, Butch was a family man. He shared 28 years of marriage with the love of his life, Kathryn “Kathie” Grace Beverlin, whom he married on October 25, 1996. Their bond was one of quiet devotion, built on laughter, partnership, and love that weathered every season of life together.

He was a proud father to his son, Justin Eric Titus (Halley) of Parkersburg, and beamed with pride at the mention of his granddaughter, Nevaeh Lynn Titus, who brought light and joy to his later years.

Butch's memory will live on through his siblings: Debbie Gilbert of Bridgeport; Cathy McKay (Steve), Mark Titus, and Brian Titus (Pamela), all of Jane Lew — along with many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Butch. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Allen Titus, whose absence he carried deeply.

Butch was the kind of man who didn’t need to speak loudly to be heard. His actions, his steady presence, and the love he gave — these were his true legacy. He will be missed beyond words, and remembered with love that endures.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, where stories will be shared, tears will be shed, and a life so beautifully lived will be honored. Online condolences may be sent to DavisFuneralHomeSalemWV.com.
