Charlotte (Clayton) Chipps, 70 of Salem departed this life on April 29, 2016 at United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. She was born on June 24,1945 in Wetzel Co. to the lateHomer and Florence Derby Clayton. Surviving are two sons, Stan Chipps and wife Jennifer of Salem, Steve Chipps and wife Shawna of West Union and one daughter, Janie Cottrill and husband Tim of West Union. Five Grandchildren, Josh Cottrill, Whitney Chipps, Logan Chipps, Kylee Cottrill and Luke Chipps.One great grandchild Ander Lewis White. Three sisters, Patty Bassett, Reader, WV, Rosemary Routa and husband John of Bridgeport and Tammy Bolton of Clarksburg. One brother Frank Clayton and wife Jeanie of Weirton, WV. She was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry and Howard Clayton and sister Peggy Dawson.Mrs Chipps was previously employed at Clarksburg Senior Citizens, Doddridge County Senior Citizens and Monroe's Market, West Union. She enjoyed bingo, slots and cooking. You never left her home hungry. Mrs. Chipps attended Cascara United Methodist Church.Funeral services will be conducted at the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem WV on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11AM.Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. The family will receive visitors in the funeral home chapel on Monday May 2, 2016 from 4-8PM and from 9AM until time of service on Tuesday.
