Clell Edward Stewart

Clell Edward Stewart, 85 of West Union passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Clell was born May 26, 1934 in Webster County, WV, son of the late William and Ora Curry Stewart. 

Clell was a U. S. Air Force Veteran. After leaving the Air Force he lived and worked in Binghamton, N.Y. at Endicott Johnson Shoe Company and later as a Baker in local super markets and donut factories. He always joked that he put the holes in the donuts. Clell was a retired pastor in Doddridge County for over twenty five years.

He is  survived by his wife Marian Helene Hoyte Stewart whom he married March 5, 1955; seven children, Karen LaVare and Jeff, David and Suzanne Barry both of NY, Helene A Davis, West Union, Donald Stewart, Clarksburg, Ronald Stewart, Stonewood, Thomas Stewart, Bradenton, FL, Linda Herron and Gary, WV; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Clell is preceded in death by thirteen siblings, Christine Simon, Chloe Boggs, Catherine Case, Camille Lykins, Clarice Thorn, Clayton Stewart, Calvert Stewart; Charles Stewart, Carl Stewart and Chester Stewart and three in infacey.

Private visitation and service will be held at Greathouse Funeral Home on Monday, April 20, 2020. Due to the Covid 19 – We will be having a Drive-Thru Viewing for the safety of the family and the community at our Davis Funeral Home location, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 from 10:00AM-1:00 PM with private interment at WV National Cemetery.
