Dale Bruce Posey, 67, Of Route 1, Salem went home to be with his Lord on December 20, 2009 at his residence following a sudden illness.
He was born on June 15, 1942 a son of the late Ralph E. Posey and Opal Sturms Posey. On February 12, 2008 he married Phyllis Robinson Posey who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter Kelly Webster and husband Ron, Bridgeport, one son, Jason Posey and wife Kim, Fairmont, 4 stepchildren; Ron Gaff, VA, Rhonda Pruitt, MS, Mary Heinrich, Clarksburg, and Jennifer Cotton, VA, 7 grandchildren, Tiffany Dodd and husband, Tyler, Courtnie Spencer and husband, Justin, Samantha Webster, Dustin Webster, Elijah, Exavier and Jamyson Posey, two great grandchildren, Ellamy and Aryon Dodd, 8 step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, two sisters, Joan Harding, Oklahoma, City, OK, Harriett Cimaroli, Mesa, AZ, one brother, Ralph E Posey, Jr., Sparks, NV and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is the mother of his children, Sharon Posey, Bridgeport. One son Dale B. Posey, Jr. preceded him in death.
Mr. Posey worked for Continental Can & Brockway Glass Companies for 12 years. He was the owner & operator of D&P Trucking for 30 years. He was a member of the Clarksburg Lodge #52 Loyal Order of Moose. Dale enjoyed hunting and fishing and all outdoor activities and was a retired member of the Harrison County Emergency Squad. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Ron Webster presiding. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Masonic Cemetery. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, December 26th from 2-4 & 6-8PM and Sunday, December 27th from 2-4 & 6-8PM.
