Daniel Ellis Fossett, 66, of Salem, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026 at his residence. He was born on June 12, 1959 in Painesville, OH, a son of the late Delbert William Fossett, Sr. and Pearl Virginia Blackburn Fossett.
He is survived by four siblings, Deborah Louise Fossett Edwards of Mountain City, TN, Delbert Fossett, Jr. and spouse David Jones of Weatherford, TX, , John T. Fossett also of Mountain City, TN and Gregory Steven Fossett and wife Rhonda of TX; and many nieces and nephews that he adored.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Andrew Fossett.
Daniel spent many years working as a dedicated truck driver until his retirement. He was a man who appreciated the simple things in life, whether it was time spent welding in the garage, casting a line out on the water, or just enjoying a quiet day. He had a strong work ethic and a steady, down-to-earth way about him that people respected.
Above all, Daniel loved his family. He found his greatest happiness in the time he spent with them, sharing stories, laughter, and life’s everyday moments. Those who knew him will remember his simple nature, his love for his family, and the quiet way he made a lasting impact on the people around him.
Daniel’s wishes for cremation will be honored. Online condolences may be shared at www.davisfuneralhomewv.com. Davis Funeral Home-Salem is honored to serve the Fossett family.
