David R. Edgell

David R. Edgell,62, of Center Point passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 in the United Hospital Center following a brief illness.

Dave was born December 22, 1947 in Barberton, OH to the late Leonard E. Gene and Dorothy Dot Edgell.

Surviving are two daughters, Julie Reed and husband Matt, West Union, Joni Edgell, Clarksburg, one son, Matthew D. Edgell, Morgantown, grandchildren, Alison and Sydney Reed, five brothers, Richard Edgell and wife Karen, Bridgeport, Greg Edgell and wife Denise, West Union, Robert Edgell and wife Donita, Brad Edgell and wife Sue, Kevin Edgell, all of Sedalia Community, one sister Twyla Edgell, Columbus, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Dave was employed by Osborn Machinery Company as a salesman for over 30 years. He received his real estate license and worked with United Country Realty. Dave was a 1965 graduate of Doddridge County High School where he played basketball and ran track. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed trout fishing in the mountains with his son and brothers. Dave was manager/coach and played on the Sedalia Community Fast Pitch Softball Team and enjoyed playing League Shuffleboard.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 1:00PM in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem with Pastor Robert Merritt presiding. Interment will follow in the K.of P. Memorial Park, Salem. Family and friends may call in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 2-8PM and after 9AM on Wednesday until time of service.
