David Spook Nicholson, 49 of E. Main St. Salem departed this life on Saturday, October 27, 2012 in his residence following an brief illness. He was born on November 4, 1962 in Clarksburg a son of the late Phillip and Nancy Pierce Nicholson.
On July 1, 2011 he married Romona Smearman Nicholson who survives.
Also surviving are is one son, Matthew Nicholson, Shinnston, three step-daughters, Rhea Smith, Salem, Andrea Barker, Salem, Sara Barker, Marietta, OH, one sister, Marsha Cottrill, Salem, two brothers, James Nicholson and Raymond Woody Nicholson both of Salem, eight grandchildren, Maddison Smith, Olivia Lemley, Abbigal Sparks, Bruce and Alexia Allman, Shailah Rogers, Katelynn Barker and Morgan Tresize. One brother, Norman Nicholson preceded him in death.
Mr. Nicholson was a former employee of Oliverios Pepper Plant. He was an avid WVU sports fan and never missed a football or basketball game. David enjoyed hockey and other sports as well.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem at 1:00PM with Dr. Chris Longgrear presiding. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 11AM until time of service.
