David “Scott” Nutt, Jr., 56 of Salem passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at United Hospital Center with family by his side.
Scott was born July 30, 1965 in Clarksburg, WV, son of Sharon Lee Melvin Nutt Kinney and the late David Scott Nutt Sr.
Scott graduated from Liberty High School, Class of 1983. He was a painter by profession. He was currently employed by Salem International University. Over the life of his career he left a legacy of work that he took pride in. Many friends and family had the benefit of his painting skills. Scott was a friend you could count on. He was a true gentleman always. He was a caring, compassionate man who loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews who he adored and was a devoted son. It was a tossup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and WVU Mountaineer during football season, but he loved them both.
In addition to his mother, Scott is survived by his two siblings, April Heather Golden and husband Bobby, Salem, Daniel Lee Kinney Jr and wife Sandi, Hollywood, MD; nieces and nephew; Katie Kinney, Lexi Kinney and Mathew Golden, uncle Steve Nutt and fiancé Kathy Daley, Weston; cousins, Christopher Nutt and wife Pam, Clarksburg, Sean Melvin and wife Heather and family, Pittsburgh, PA; and his dear dear friend, Karla A Collins, Salem.
In addition to his father, Scott was preceded in death by his stepfather, Daniel “Danny” L Kinney Sr; paternal grandparents, Frank and Edith Carter Nutt; maternal grandparents, Charles “Chuck” and Dorothy Casto Melvin; one niece, Ella Nutt.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of the Funeral Service at 1:00PM with Rev Trevor Pullin officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
