Delbert Dale Norman, age 76, of Salem, passed away on Sunday, March 23 2008, at Grafton City Hospital following a long illness.
Dale was born August 9, 1931, at Bristol, a son of the late Carl D. and Martha Ruth Harbert Norman.
He had been a manager for the Kroger Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are one son, Delbert Sonny Norman, Anaheim, Calif., and four daughters and sons-in-law, Kitty and Gary Shugars, Bridgeport, Debbie and Brad Vincent, Flemington, Donna and Bob Davis, Springfield, Mo., and Cindy and Pete Smith, New Milton; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
One daughter, Susan Sinclair and one grandson, and a sister, Mary Sue Norman, preceded him in death.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 27, 2008, from 11 a.m. until time of service in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 27 from 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lillian Simmons and Pastor Linda Muhly officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Norman family, c/o Cindy Smith, Rt. 1, Box 80B, New Milton, WV 26411.
