Donald Keith Pratt, Sr., 75, of Randolph Terrace Apartments, Salem departed this life on Saturday, February 13, 2010 in the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was born on January 20, 1935 at Cascara a son of the late Ora Eli Pratt and Fannie Annie Cayton Pratt Edwards.
Surviving are one son, Donald Keith Pratt, Jr. and wife Julie, Sebring, Oh, one grandson and one granddaughter, one sister, Thelma Underwood and husband, Don, Cascara and one brother, Ronald L. Pratt and wife, Rosetta, Cascara. Three brothers, Jack Leroy, Hubert Gene and Ora Leon Pratt preceded him in death.
Mr. Pratt was a Merchant Marine working on Ore Freighters on the Great Lakes delivering ore to steel mills in the area. He had worked as a welder and retired from Food Lion Corporation. Don was a proud member of the National Rifle Association, a veteran of the U.S. Army and had attended the Cascara United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem with Pastor Nathan R. Epling presiding. Interment will follow in the K of P Memorial Park, Salem. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 16th from 2-4&6-8PM in the funeral home chapel and after 9AM on Wednesday until time of service.
