Donald "Don" Hayward Lynch

Donald “Don” Hayward Lynch, 81, of Salem passed away on Thursday, December 07, 2023 at the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility. He was born on September 11, 1942 in Clarksburg, son of the late Arma and Mary Simmons Lynch.

Don served his country in the United States Army. He was a welder with Babcock & Wilcox. Don enjoyed being outdoors and feeding the wildlife, woodworking, and collecting coins. He was a member of Big Isaac United Methodist Church and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Don private yet extremely caring and giving.

Don is survived by three children, John Lynch, Daniel Lynch and William Lynch; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; four siblings, Roderick Lynch and Mary, Salem, Patricia Rose and Junior, Ohio, Beverly Bland and Robert, Bridgeport; William Lynch and Angie, South Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his wife, Mona Lee Duff Lynch on March 21, 2009; one daughter, Sheila Williams; three siblings, Barbara Ancell, Steven Lynch and Robert Lynch; niece, Tina, and nephew, David.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at Big Isaac Cemetery with Pastor Elizabeth Jarrett officiating and military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the US Army Honor Guard.
