Donald "Donnie" Baker II Obituary

Donald Eugene “Donnie” Baker II, 54, of Salem, didn’t do anything quietly—especially not life. He passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, leaving behind a trail of stories, laughs, and probably a little dust from four-wheeler tires.

Born on July 4, 1971, in Clarksburg (because of course he was born on Independence Day), Donnie was the son of the late Donald Eugene Baker and Lucy Juanita Dennison Baker. Freedom ran in his blood from day one.

Donnie was a hard worker who put in years at Judel Glass and later Simonton Windows before illness slowed him down—but it never changed who he was. When he wasn’t working, you could find him glued to NASCAR, proudly collecting his gnomes (yes, gnomes—and he owned it), admiring his guns, or tearing up the trails on a four-wheeler. He lived loud, liked what he liked, and never apologized for it. He had a soft spot for his four-legged companions and treated them like his children, cherishing their loyalty and finding constant joy in their presence.

Donnie is survived by his siblings, Angela Campbell and husband Jeff, Michelle Robinson and husband Chuckie; his brother-in-law, Paul Campbell; three aunts, Patty Harrison, Barbara “Jean” Yerkey, and Patty Dennison; and a whole crew of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins who will carry his stories forward.

In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his sister, Donita “Ann” Campbell, along with several aunts and uncles who no doubt welcomed him with open arms and a grin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Donald’s Care Fund on his memorial page—because Donald would rather you help someone than buy something fancy.

Honoring his wishes, Donnie will be cremated. Online condolences may be shared at www.DavisFuneralHomeSalemWV.com. Davis Funeral Home Salem is honored to assist the Baker family.

He lived his way. He left his mark. And he won’t be forgotten.
