Douglas Allen "Doug” Chicknell, 65 of Salem passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at his residence. He was born November 28, 1956 in Clarksburg, son of the late Joseph Chicknell and Iva "Irene" Kems Hickman. Doug worked at the glass factory and was a cook at several restaurants. He enjoyed playing basketball, camping, and watching sports. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Ann Childers Chicknell whom he married on October 27. 1979 four children, Elaina Chicknell, Shinnston, Angela Shuman, Clarksburg, Krista Chicknell, Morgantown, Zachary Chicknell, Salem; three grandchildren, Rebecca, Madison, Caitlin; one half-brother, Bobby Siders and wife Loretta, Salem; his four-legged companion Nelson. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Salem is handling the cremation and honored to serve the Chicknell family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his Care Fund on his memorial page.
