Edna Maxine Ford, 92 of Salem departed this life on Thursday, September 8, 2016 in Genesis Health Care Center, Salem. She was born on August 17, 1924 in West Union the fifth child of the late Elbridge Homer and Belva Darnold Dilly. On May 22, 1943 she married Galen Dale Ford who preceded her in death on April 8, 1990.Surviving are one daughter, Donna Jean Ford Hayes and husband William H., Salem, one son, Alan Dale Ford and wife Debra Lynn Morris Ford, Salem, three grandchildren, William Todd Hayes and wife Bridget L. Cooper Hayes, Michael Chad Hayes, Farrah Ann Ford Johnson and husband Tony all of Salem, step granddaughter, Alicia Nannette Tate Ramsey and husband James Ramsey, Harrisville, five great grandchildren, Hunter Cooper Hayes, Holden Bennett Hayes, Heston Raleigh Hayes, twins, Isaac James and Alexander Michael Johnson, Salem, step great grandchildren, Anthony Ramsey and wife Leah, Candice Ramsey and Brandi Ramsey, who gave her loving care at Genesis Health Care Center three sisters, one step great great grandson Jaxon Ramsey son of Anthony and Leah Ramsey, Harrisville, two sisters, BelvaLouise Dilly Noland, St. Mary's, Juanita I. Dilly Campbell, Parkersburg. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen M. Dilly, L. Leota Dilly, two brothers, Frank A. Dilly, Marden Paul "Jimmy" Dilly, Maxine worked as a teacher's aide from 1966 at Van Horn School until 1972. She then worked at the Salem Industrial Home for Youth as a Correctional Officer and Shift Supervisor from 1972-1988. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and Salem Senior Citizens. She enjoyed working in her flowers and loved her three cats. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jon Hayes presiding. Interment will follow in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 4-8PM. Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Ford family.
