Edna Starkey Obituary

Edna Louise Starkey, 74 of Salem departed this life on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in the United Hospital Center. She was born on December 9, 1938 in Doddridge County a daughter of the late Harvey and Ruby Jenkins Sutton. On February 26, 1955 she married Franklin D. Starkey who preceded her in death on November 12, 2010.

Surviving is three daughters, Barbara America and husband Junior, Salem, Susan Counts, Little Rock Camp, Brianna Richards and husband James, Weston, three sons, Frank Starkey and wife Judy, New Martinsville, Eddie Starkey, Salem, Rex Starkey and wife Marilyn, Sardis, sixteen grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren, one brother, Lloyd Sutton, Parkersburg. Two sons, Brad & Jeff Starkey, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Edna had worked for Myles Manufacturing in West Union and Pennsboro as a seamstress and for Salem Glass Factory. Edna was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.



Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 1:00PM with Pastor John Freeman presiding. Interment will follow in the Greenbrier Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 4-8PM and after 9AM on Saturday until time of service.
