Elmer O. Williams, 79 of Valley St. Salem departed this life on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 in Genesis Health Care Center, Salem. He was born on June 14, 1935 in Wetzel County a son of the late Ross and Bessie Cross Williams. On April 2, 1980 he married Grace J. Moore Williams who survives.
Surviving is one son, Oliver E. Williams, Parkersburg, three daughters, Marsha Williams, Pennsboro, Doris Williams, Parkersburg, Lisa of OH, four step daughters, Patty Lattea, Salem, Roberta Blankenship, Shinnston, Loretta McElroy, Salem, Sandra Chevront, Clarksburg, one step son, Rolland G. Moore Jr. Moundsville, four sisters, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. One son, Anthony Williams and one daughter, Anita Bell, two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Williams was a self employed carpenter and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem, on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 6:00PM with Pastor Harley Jeffries presiding. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel after 3PM until time of service. Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.harbertfuneralhome.com.
