Ester Joan Bonnell Shillingburg, 73, of Main St., Salem passed away on August 25, 2009 in her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born at Big Isaac on September 20, 1935 a daughter of the late John and Velma Gay Maxson Barnes.
Surviving is five daughters, Barbara Cork and husband Burties, Connie Carmichael, Bonnie Woofter, Jackie Searcy and husband Robert, Missie DeHaven and fiance Randy Bostic, all of Salem, two sons, Leon Bonnell and wife Diana, Chuck Bonnell, both of Salem, 23 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Four grandchildren preceded her in death.
Joan was a former employee of Anchor Hocking Glass Factory where she was a glass packer, Doddridge County Senior Citizens, where she was a bus driver,the West Union Garment Factory, where she was a seamstressand Harrison County Home Health. She was a Baptist. Joan was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 2-8PM in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem.
