Eugene “Gene” Dennis Botting, 70 of Troy, WV went home on Monday, June 27, 2022 as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born March 8, 1952 in Houlton, ME, son of the late Neil Botting and Betty Weir.
Gene served his country in the United States Army. He then worked for Border Patrol, US Customs, Homeland Security and retired and continued to work as a contractor with SOSI and CACI as a Border Mentor and Instructor in Afghanistan. He was very creative in making knives, tooling leather, and woodworking. He collected knives, guns, patches and insignias. He loved riding his Honda Gold Wing Motorcycle, playing Santa Claus for many charities, playing the bagpipes for funerals, helping others, and very giving to those in need.
Gene is survived by his wife of thirty plus years, Jude “Tsula” Sunoyi Tsula Kaar Finch Botting; two children, Anthony Botting and Sheena White, both of Horn Lake, MS; several grandchildren and two sisters; his four legged companions, Chester the Wonder Dog, Marty the Trike, Pauli Labeauf, Meika Twotoe, Sarah Elizabeth, Sasha Amali, and Marcus Auralous.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Botting.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Davis Funeral Home, 1999 W Main Street Salem, WV on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM followed by a memorial ride back to the family farm.
