Franklin Swiger, Obituary

Franklin Ray Swiger, Jr., 45 of HC 67, West Union (Center Point) departed this life on Saturday, October 24, 2009 in the Davis Memorial Hospital.
He was born on May 18, 1964 in the K.I. Air Force Base, Marquette, MI a son of Franklin Ray and Sarah Peggy Cox Swiger, Salem.

Surviving is one daughter, Deborah Gratson and husband Joseph, Salem, two granddaughters, Taitianya Gratson and Jocelynne Swiger, two sisters, Terry Sines, Salem, Lisa Ball, West Union, two brothers, Chad A. Swiger, Center Point, James E. Swiger, Yuma, AZ and several nieces and nephews. His maternal grandparents, Edward Lee and Virginia Grace Perine Cox and paternal grandparents, Homer Ray and Naomi Ferrebee Swiger preceded him in death.

Mr. Swiger was a former employee of H.L. Heaster, Clarksburg and had worked for Glaspell Lumber, Center Point. He served in the U.S. Navy, Petty Officer 3C during the Gulf War and was stationed aboard USS Cape Cod AD43 in San Diego, CA in Instrument Maintenance.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 26, 2009 in the Harbert Funeral Home, 287 W. Main St., Salem from 12PM to 2PM. Graveside services will be held at 3PM on Monday, October 26, 2009 in the Masonic Memorial Park, West Union with Pastor Jeff Stefanov officiating.
