Galena “Tink” Dawn (McKinney) Carder, 60 of West Union passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. She was born May 14, 1964 in Clarksburg, daughter of the late Jack Francis McKinney and Mamie Ingaba Davis McKinney Cade. Galena was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, watching golden girls, being on the phone and loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. Galena is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Johnston, Salem; her son, Allen Carder and fiancée Lydia Arnott, West Union; four grandchildren, Allie Johnston, Savanna Johnston, Peyton Carder and Lucy Arnott; siblings, Edith Scheuvrant (Ernest) Hepzibah, Barbara Shaffer, Salem, Jackie Brown (Danny) Smithburg, Rick McKinney (Colleen), Charles Town, Tim McKinney (Karen) Salem, Raymond McKinney (Samantha) NC, Lita Reed (Mark) Salem, Greg Cade (Dena), West Union, Shana Aichele (Ted), Fairmont, Tara Wilson (Howard) Morgantown, Beth Ann Dillon, Melinda McKinney and Dale McKinney all of Ohio; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Galena was preceded in death by her husband, Homer “Hank” Allen Carder on September 30, 2011; son-in-law, John “Blaine” Leland Johnston, Jr; sister, Mary Ellen McKinney. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory, Salem is handling the cremation and honored to serve the Carder family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her Care Fund on her memorial page.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 11AM-1PM at Doddridge County Park, Oak Pavilion. The Family asks for all who attend to bring a covered dish for the reception.
