Gary Malcolm Mills, 76, of Lake Floyd passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025 at United Hospital Center surrounded by his family. He was born on May 13, 1948 in Clarksburg, son of the late Dale Mills and Carolyn Ross Smearman. Gary graduated from Salem High School, Class of 1966. He then served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam. After his military service, he got his degree from Salem College in 1974. He worked for Kaites Limited in Clarksburg for many years and last worked at Kroger’s. Gary enjoyed going to Car Shows and the Mountains. He loved spending time with his family and his animals, his favorite being Bandit. Gary is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Donna Marie Davis Mills whom he married on November 9, 1968; three children, Sandra Brown (William), Salem, Chris Mills (Alayna) Mount Clare, Ashley Childers (Joshua) Bridgeport; six grandchildren, Madison (Derek), Abrielle, Beckett, Emily, Samuel, and Alexander; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by siblings, Patricia Mills, John Mills, Suzy Mills and Mark Smearman. Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home - Salem, 1999 W. Main Street, Salem, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 3:00 pm until time of Funeral Service at 7:00PM with Pastor Dustin McCune presiding. A Private Graveside Service will be held at WV National Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the United States Navy Honor Guard.
