George Michael Lattea

George Michael Lattea, 69, of Salem, WV departed this life at Sunday, November 8, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Clarksburg on May 24, 1952, the son of the late George and Helen Davis Lattea.

George worked for Compton Lanes for several years as a maintenance worker. He loved fishing, NASCAR, and playing Bingo. He loved spending time with his grandkids. He would love to outrun his grandkids and would often tell them they would never be faster than he was.

George is survived by his companion of over thirty-eight years, Debra Loraine Davis Johnson; children, Crystal Johnson and companion Dave, Wayne Johnson, and Mary Johnson, all of Salem; step children, Dot, Carl, and Donald; eighteen grandchildren, Heather Eakle, Harvey Johnson, and wife Aimee, Aaron Eakle and companion, Alley, Shelby Johnson, Aiden, Gabe, and Keira Cummings, Katie Davis, Matthew Johnson and wife, Chasity, Brittany Johnson and wife, Synamon, Cassandra Johnson and companion, Justin, Austin and Shayla Jackson, and Ian Knight; siblings, Robert Lattea and wife, Donna, Jean Paugh and husband, William, Richard and Jean Lattea, Larry and Gail Lattea, and Dairl and June Lattea; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by one  son, Jerry Davis, and one sister, Dixie Mossier.

Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home-Salem, 1999 W Main Street, Salem, WV 26426, on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Mount Clare. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his care fund on his memorial page.
