Georgette Jean Curley

Georgette J. Curley, 83 of Valley St., Salem departed this life on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in the Genesis Health Care Center, Salem. She was born on February 8, 1931 in Salem a daughter of the late Gerald and Iva Morgan Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Dwayne Underwood.

Surviving is one daughter, Kitty Jean Gibson and husband Bruce, Pine Top, KY, one son Curtis Underwood and wife Karen, Lexington, KY, grandchildren, Scott Underwood, Brad Underwood, Chad Underwood, great grandchildren, Victoria, Colton, Athan & Khloe Underwood & Christin Gibson, three sisters, Bobby George, Barbara Heneghan both of Chicago, IL, Darlena Davis, Salem and several nieces and nephews. One brother Sam Davis preceded her in death.

Mrs. Curley was a homemaker and had delivered meals on wheels in Salem. She was a Christian for 60 years and attended the Salem Church of God, where she was President of Ladies Ministry for 23 years. Georgette was a Sunday School Teacher & Youth Leader for many years.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11AM with Pastor Mike Cox presiding. Interment will follow in the Salem I.O.O.F. Memorial Park, Salem. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 4-7PM.
