Gerald "Jerry" Lynn Bowen

Gerald “Jerry” Lynn Bowen, 81, of Shinnston passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at United Hospital Center. He was born on March 10, 1944, son of the late Denver Gale and Zethra Devier Chipps Bowen. Jerry graduated from Salem High School. He retired from the Harrison County Board of Education as a bus driver and last and bus aide. He loved NASCAR and was a member of Grace Baptist Temple in Jane Lew. Jerry is survived by his son, Gerald Glen Bowen; two twin grandsons, Lukus Aiden and Logan Elijah Bowen; one sister, Jane Steen, Enterprise; one brother, Rodger Bowen and wife Lola, Salem; lifelong friends, Kenneth Kenny and Frank Dennison; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie D Bowen on November 27, 1997; son, Carey Bowen; daughter, Katrina Marie Bowen; one sister, Marsha Davis; companion Jeannie Carroll.  Private interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
