Glenn Gary Underwood

Glenn Gary Underwood, 71 of Salem (Schutte Station Community) departed this life on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 28, 1943 in Doddridge County a son of the late Orwin Ancel and Ruth Naomi Currey Underwood. On September 10, 1965 he married Antonia "Toni" Fisher Underwood who survives.

Also surviving are four sons, David Scott Underwood, CA, Michael William Underwood, Weirton, Shawn Bradley Underwood, Schutte Station, Luke Glenn Underwood and wife Amy, Atlanta, GA, grandchildren, Ryan, Dakota, Mackenzie, Kasey, Aaron, Kole and Pryor Underwood, one sister, Brenda Travis, Sedalia, one brother, Donald Underwood, Cascara, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, infant Douglas Underwood, Frederick "Duke" Underwood and David Underwood.

Mr. Underwood was retired from Weirton Steel, Wire Gang with greater than 34 years service where he had been a member of the 25 year club. He had served in the Salem National Guard and attended Vermont Baptist Church. Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing and inherited the love of walking from his father. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 10:00AM in the Christian Church Cemetery, Center Point with Pastor Bob Merritt officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Center Point Cemetery Asociation, C/O Debra Matheny, 287 Village Green Rd. Salem, WV 26426.
