Gypsy Lou Fox, 79, of Route 2, Salem (Waldo Run Community) departed this life on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the residence of her son. She was born on May 1, 1931 in Lumberport a daughter of the late Carl and Alma M. Burns Hutson. On October 5, 1960 she married Richard W. Fox who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Douglas W. Fox and wife Jamie, Dacula, GA, Walter Jeff Fox and wife Loretta, West Union, one daughter, Angela Edwards and husband Jeff, Clarksburg, five grandchildren, Megan Brooke Fox, Cody Fox, Dylan Edwards, Kyle Fox and Spencer Fox, two sisters, Nancy Jones, Clarksburg, Lena F. Swiger, Las Vegas, NV, one brother, Marvin Hutson, Charlotte, NC and several nieces and nephews. One brother, David Hutson preceded her in death.
Mrs. Fox had worked for Salem College for 20 years as secretary to the president; she retired from the WV Public Service Commission with 10 years service as a secretary. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church. She loved music and sang in the church choir. Gypsy was an avid lover of Fox News and enjoyed watching the Bill OReilly Show. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in the Salem Baptist Church, Main St., Salem at 1:00PM with Pastor Charles Warger and Pastor Roger Fontaine presiding. Mrs. Fox will lie in state one hour prior to her service. Interment will follow in the K of P Memorial Park, Salem. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home chapel on Monday, May 17, 2010 from 4-8PM.
