Harvey Adams Obituary

Harvey Lowell Adams, 71, of Meathouse Fork, Salem, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born on September 14, 1954, in Salem, Harvey was the son of the late Ira Clinton Adams, Sr. and Mary Ellen Baker Adams.

Harvey lived a quiet and humble life, never seeking the spotlight but always willing to lend a helping hand to those he loved. Over the years, he became a devoted caregiver to many members of his family, offering his time, compassion, and unwavering support whenever it was needed. He shared a special bond with his nieces and nephews, who cherished him not only as an uncle but as a trusted friend and constant source of love and encouragement. The moments they spent together created memories they will treasure for a lifetime.

A gifted musician and writer, Harvey found joy in expressing himself through music. He had a remarkable talent for playing the guitar and writing, gifts that reflected his gentle spirit and thoughtful heart. Though he preferred a private life, those who truly knew Harvey knew a kind, caring man whose quiet presence brought comfort to others.

He is survived by his three brothers, Ira Clinton Adams, Jr. (Bertie) of Salem, Dennis Darrell Adams of Muraysville, and Francis Bernard Adams of Parkersburg; five nieces and nephews, Ira Clinton Adams II (Mary), Heather Rene' Adams, David Wayne Adams (Nicole), John Christian Adams (Stephanie), and Teresa Kay Adams-Davis (Steve); and thirteen great-nieces and great-nephews, Maci, Quincy, Nellis, Ronnie, Sarah, Emily, Nathaniel, Ryan, Amelia, Christian, Payton, Mary Ellen, and Lena.

In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his beloved family members who welcomed him into eternal peace.
